Our Story

Living in New York City, everything is very fast paced. In the crowd and chaos of the big city, what keeps us rooted is our culture. That's what sets us apart from the rest of the crowd. But due to the scarcity of south asian products, the prices of the regular jewelry and clothing tends to be incredibly high. Our Founder and CEO, Ayesha Tabassum, wanted to bring the south asian culture close to the millions of working class south asians living abroad in an affordable price without breaking the bank.

Our Goal from the start has been to bring you jewelry that gives you a glimpse of the incredibly rich South-East Asian culture, its bright colors and all its grandeur! But keeping it pocket friendly at the same time. 

Even though we started our journey September 3rd, 2020, our initial goal was to start off March of 2020. But unfortunately we were all hit by a Global Pandemic that set us way back. However, we believe everything happens for a reason and this gave us a huge opportunity to plan out immensely well, talk to and finalize the best of vendors after judging their product samples. To us, Quality comes first, and anything that doesn't reach the mark aren't considered for sales. 

​Our team sources products from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh after a thorough process to ensure the quality of the items. We also teamed up with a manufacturer located in Mumbai, Maharashtra to customize our luxury and bridal items precisely, so that our customers can get items unique to them. From the sourcing to the packaging and shipment, all our products are inspected multiple times because our customers deserves the very best!

 (Rubies by Ayesha is an online only company. We do not have a physical store. We do bridal consultation and FaceTime appointments for our customers. If you wish to see our products, we can also arrange for in-person viewing. Pre-orders on specialized pieces are taken through our WhatsApp group and Facebook group.)
